This Jon Renau Top Trend topper is a 14-inch heat-friendly synthetic hairpiece designed to add coverage and volume at the crown, with a straight texture and a light to light/medium density for a natural look. Its 7" x 7.25" base combines a SmartLace welded lace front, hand-tied hair by hair to mimic a natural hairline, with a double monofilament section that allows multi-directional parting and the appearance of natural growth.

The wefted back provides maximum coverage and height, while pressure-sensitive clips let you attach the piece directly to your own hair, or you can use adhesive on the polyurethane-coated tabs once the clips are removed. A velvet connection, elastic and cloth ribbon complete the base for a smooth, comfortable transition, and the HD fiber can be heat styled up to 350°F, with 270°–280°F recommended.

Materials & care

CLEANSE & CONDITION

• Before washing, gently remove any tangles using a wide tooth comb
• Wet hair completely using cool running water
• Gently lather the hair with a small amount of synthetic shampoo, making sure that the hair is traveling in the same direction. DO NOT rub hair; this will cause tangling
• Rinse thoroughly under cool running water until water runs clear
• Wrap wig or hairpiece in a towel and gently pat dry
• Gently detangle hair using a wide tooth comb
• Spray with leave-in conditioning spray (3-5 pumps) keeping away from base

DRY & STYLE

• Allow wig or hairpiece to air dry naturally by placing on a plastic or wire wig stand. Do NOT blow dry. Air drying will give the best results. The fiber will dry fastest; be sure the cap is completely dry before wearing, storing, or displaying
• Apply HD smooth detangling spray (3-5 pumps) focusing on the bottom half of wig or hairpiece. Gently comb through using a wide tooth comb
• Only a wide tooth comb should be used on HD fiber. Other tools will cause frizzing/tangling
• HD fiber can withstand heat up to 350° F, however, it is recommended to work at 270°-280° F
• It is recommended to use professional grade heat styling tools with digital temperature settings to control heat

CURL & FLAT IRON

• Heat curling or flat iron to 270°-280° F
• Using a wide tooth comb, gently comb hair free of tangles
• Starting at the nape, take ½ inch-1.5 inch sections of hair (smaller sections=tighter curls, larger sections=looser curls)
• Spray heat treat thermal spray on the section to protect the fiber (1-2 pumps per section)

CURL

• Gather hair into curling iron, smooth through to the ends. Roll iron up towards base of wig or hairpiece, staying 1-2 inches away
• Hold for 10-15 seconds, then turn the tip of iron toward the ground and release curl into palm of hand
• Holding curl in one hand, gather up towards base and secure curl with a small metal clip (like a pin curl)
• Allow curl to cool completely (about 5 minutes); remove clip and let curl hang naturally

FLAT IRON

• Starting at the nape, take ½ inch-1.5 inch sections
• Spray heat treat thermal spray on the section to protect the fiber (1-2 pumps per section)
• Slowly smooth flat iron down through ends; keep hair smooth by following behind the flat iron with a wide tooth comb
• Allow hair to hang naturally and cool completely

TIPS

• All synthetic fibers can tangle and frizz with wear. It is important that the frizz is corrected early to avoid permanent damage to the fiber. Use a flat iron to smooth any frizz before washing
• Use HD smooth detangling spray with a wide tooth comb DAILY to detangle HD wigs. This is especially important with mid-length to long length HD wigs or hairpieces
• To add texture and definition, use a small amount of contour fiber crème and apply using fingertips

How to use

• Clip the topper into your own hair using the pressure-sensitive clips, or apply adhesive to the polyurethane-coated tabs if you prefer a bonded hold.
• Part the double monofilament section in any direction to match your natural parting.
• Style with heat tools at 270°–280°F, protecting each section with thermal spray.
